On February 10th, Phil, Meg, and the children attended the Rodeo – yes, you read that right!

After a fun-filled day, they arrived home in separate cars. When Meg entered their Orwigsburg house, she noticed everyone was either upstairs or in the basement. Suspecting that Phil and the kids were trying to scare her, she was surprised when there was a knock at the door.

It was Sam, holding the first in a series of signs.

The signs spoke about how the moments our children were born and came into our lives were pivotal, and that meeting each other was the final missing piece. Each child held a sign, turning the proposal into a true family event.

With the last sign read, there was Phil on one knee... and Meg, through many happy tears, ecstatically said yes!

What to Wear

In June, Sorrento will be quite warm. For daytime, think cool clothes like linen and comfortable shoes, especially if you’ll be walking around the cobblestone streets.

Both hotels have pools, so don’t forget your bathing suit! Below we’ve outlined the events over the three days, along with dress ideas. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help.

For women, we recommend flat, block, or wedge heels for each event — the surfaces are uneven with stone, and there will be a short walk on the wedding day.

Thursday, June 26th

White Party with a “pop” of color at Hotel Cocumella.

The party will be on the terrace, with beautiful views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Come hungry after your long journey — we’ll have plenty of delicious Italian dishes! This evening kicks off the festivities and is a perfect chance for everyone we love to meet.

Friday, June 27th

Pre-Wedding Dinner at Frattoria Terranova

Frattoria Terranova is a very special place for Phil and Meg — they visited here on their first planning trip in March 2024 on a cold, rainy night. It’s a fifth-generation working farm and hotel, where you’ll be welcomed by breathtaking views and a feeling of being part of the family.

Be inspired by the beauty of the Italian coast — cocktail attire in prints, lemon patterns, shades of blue, or other florals.

Transportation will be provided. Pickup times from Hotel Cocumella will be posted on the website and shared in your hotel room once you check in.

Saturday, June 28th

Wedding in Sorrento - The location is top secret!

It wouldn’t be fun without a surprise after you've traveled so far! The ceremony and reception location will be revealed closer to the day.

Black tie optional. And bring your dancing shoes — in true Italian tradition, the party will go late... very late!

Transportation will be provided. Pickup times from Hotel Cocumella will be posted on the website and shared in your hotel room once you check in.

If you are taking taxis, they can be quite expensive, we will be getting referral of a recommended taxis company and will be available soon. If need it sooner please reach out to Meg or Phil. Uber has also arrived in Sorrento, but this can be spotty so be patient or within the Uber app, toggle to switch to taxi and one will be dispatched to your location.
